Hell I was pretty sure there was a Tibetian topic... ANyway..

CUrrent 93 - Aleph at hallucinatory mountain

I’ve only listened to the first two tracks, but they’re just awesome – well there’s a bit of a shock when you hear the screaming doom-metal guitars, but then the pure psychedelic beauty of all this just strikes you like Jesus’s Hammer (yeah I know it’s Thor’s hammer, but anyway)… This is a VERY seventies album, as far as I’ve heard, almost progressive, the influence of Comus is more obvious than it ever was ; Current 93 turning into a jam band… The use of Violin and the almost mantra-rock drums reminded me of old High Tide stuff. In some ways, Tibet here is pushing to the limits what he begun with “Hitler as kalki” or the “Lucifer over London” EP, when working with Bevis Frond’s Nick Saloman. THIS IS A MUST HAVE.

This is a short live record from the “thunder perfect mind” era ; it wouldn’t be very interesting without the INCREDIBLE live version of the title-song, seventeen minutes of pure psychedelic anger, featuring Nick Saloman from The Bevis Frond on electric guitar – and believe me, this is a wah-wah guitar feast for acid-heads !!!!! Hitler comes as Kalki ; Kalki comes as Hitler…

As far as I've listened, anything with Nick Saloman on guitar or Dulcimer is just magic. Sometimes a bit mushroomhazy, tho.

I've listening to my tape copy (w/ the beautiful Tamlin on the other side) until the tape itself was wrecked...
Both of these songs can make anyone that is not that much a "dark folk fan" appreciate C93 as well.

this record - consisting of a long 30 minutes piece - is a kind of return to the early industrial years of Current 93. Creeping noises, vocal loops... You'll either love it or hate it. I listened to it over and over on a night train trip, it was just the right music...
