I'm sure you all hate Venetian Snares.

Wanna participate in a hate compilation?

hu, i don't know this remix.

I like some of his albums

This one mainly... but ... Meh. I just thought the compilation project was funny. I really don't care much about breakcore.

Quote :
Me and Livstrćt had the idea to Make a hate(<3) album, called "venetian snares is a wanker!" and resample his 7/8 rythms, adding an ekstra beat to make it 4/4 again just to really piss him off

It's not labelled as Gloomy Sunday; he used the original hungarian title. But you can clearly recognize Billie's voice.

You were right, i didn't payed attention I guess, it's Öngyilkos vasárnap ( ("[ˈřɲɟilkoʃ ˈvɑʃaːrnɑp], lit. "Suicidal Sunday")") , 3rd track on the album

So...

Some months ago, I still couldn't believe I could listen to the other albums of Venetian Snares one day AND like them... well, first album I listened to some years ago was printf("shiver in eternal darkness/n"); and it didn't leaved a mark on me, didn't liked it much. From the rest I heard, It seemed to me i had kinda the same feeling as listening to huges prog metal solos one after another, or maybe even multiple instruments soloing each other at the same time... errr... it just seemed like a technichal show off to me. kinda thing i find no emotion inside, or too generic... now... I'm trying to "get" all the subtleties in his music.. cheval

Maybe I kinda had an epiphany :S

Since 15 days or so, I listen to hours of VSnares per day.

I get hooked by Goat and Horse, Winter in the Belly of a Snake, which are not the most breakcorish of his albums, more glitchy, nearer to the label of IDM than the one of breakcore, not so aggressive or crazy (? not sure..) (oh and Hospitality too).

I still have to listen again to printf("Shiver in eternal d...");

But so far on my obsessive journey to listening to all VSnares, which journey I guess is driving me a little more crazy

I've listened (not just once each) to:

Songs About My Cats (2001, Planet Mu)
Doll Doll Doll (2001, Hymen Records)
Higgins Ultra Low Track Glue Funk Hits 1972–2006 (2002, Planet Mu)
Winter in the Belly of a Snake (2002, Planet Mu)
The Chocolate Wheelchair Album (2003, Planet Mu)
Huge Chrome Cylinder Box Unfolding (2004, Planet Mu)
Winnipeg Is a Frozen Shithole (2005, Sublight Records)
Rossz csillag alatt született (2005, Planet Mu)
Cavalcade of Glee and Dadaist Happy Hardcore Pom Poms (2006, Planet Mu)
Hospitality (2006, Planet Mu)
My Downfall (Original Soundtrack) (2007, Planet Mu)
Detrimentalist (2008, Planet Mu) [9]
Filth (2009, Planet Mu)
Einstein-Rosen Bridge (2003, Planet Mu)
Horse and Goat (2004, Sublight Records)

only these ones left:

Eat Shit And Die (1998, split with DJ Fishead, self-release)
Spells (1998, self-release)
Subvert! (1998, self-release)
Fuck Canada // Fuck America (1999, CLFST, split with Stunt Rock)
Making Orange Things (2001, Planet Mu, collaboration with Speedranch)
Meathole (2005, Planet Mu)
Find Candace (2003, Hymen Records)

Fake:Impossible (1997, self-release)
Greg Hates Car Culture (1999, History of the Future)
Salt (2000, Zhark International)
7 Sevens.med EP (2000, Low Res)
White Label (2001, Hangars Liquides)
Defluxion / Boarded Up Swan Entrance (2001, Planet Mu)
Shitfuckers!!! (2001, Dyslexic Response)
The Connected Series #2 (collaboration with Cex) (2001, Klangkrieg)
A Giant Alien Force More Violent & Sick Than Anything You Can Imagine (2002, Hymen Records)
Badminton (2003, Addict Records)
Nymphomatriarch (2003, Hymen Records, collaboration with Hecate)
Skelechairs (2004, Addict Records, collaboration with Doormouse)
Moonglow / This Bitter Earth (2004, Addict Records)
Pink + Green (2007, Sublight Records)
Miss Balaton (2008, Planet Mu)
Horsey Noises (2009, Planet Mu)

and then the side projects ....

9 more release.. hypno

and I wonder how he can be so productive ...

with the "level" of editing, programming, etc in all his music... i don't know.

Well, "never cared much about breakcore".. but I'm kinda now a fan of VSnares. (And BTW Happy VSnares day! (it's his birthday :freedent: ))

I tried to listen to some Xanopticon, Datach'i, Cardopusher and (again to) Enduser... looking to see how the other artists in the same genre (similar ones?) sounded, (erhmm, something like that) but didn't get hooked much on to their music for the moment...

[/end of blog]

oh, and.... this man, Aaron Funk, seems a little crazy, isn't he? zinzin

and I don't know the status of the compilation, i just looked the hate comp thread, the deadline was the December 15... haven't read it all, 15 pages....

edit : read half of it, members began to insult each other, hate each other, burn in rage, some trolled like they were on 4chan... Site admin made a godwin. etc.

and then VSnares registered and posted something interesting. THE END.
(oh no, there's still 7 pages after that.)
