I knew The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble for their first album, mixing dark ambiances and soft jazz (Twin Peaks style) with some electronics.

But the 2009 album just burry the first one three miles under the ground. Adding "Beth Gibbons style" female vocals (more Twin Peaks style!) gives it some deep and nightly mesmerizing texture.

Just click here to get samples: http://www.adnoiseam.net/adn120 ("Embers" is my favorite one, remebering me the Portishead "Only you" track).

(once again, Ad Noiseam create a musical breakthrough)

This "dark jazz" style seems to be unique to me, but if you have some recommendations, I'll take them!

yep. Sunset Mission ( which is my sleep-album ! ) is a fucking great album.
Very very slow ambiant jazz. This music is meant to be listened by night .

It's quite scary. A stampeded of ghosts rushing through a junkyard of rusted steel with band leaders in big hats atop walls, huffing into fog horns. I think there's a scene in Ghostbusters when all the spirits are being funneled back into the netherworld, and the special effects turn into a cacophony. This performance isn't cheesy. It could have a lot to do with microphone placement, equipment, room acoustics, etc. The recording isn't of terrible fidelity, but it isn't as great as I've heard, either. Definitely worth hearing.
