PostSubject: Entertainement For The Braindead (albums, remixes, remixkits)   Fri 15 Jan 2010 - 5:23

She is 22. She is from Cologne. She's Entertainement For The Braindead.

(let's be clear: i'm not putting this picture because it's a pretty picture or because she's a girl, and she's young, and she's pretty and skilled (tho, first of all this combination should not exist), I'm putting it because I know people like to be able to match a face, something, a visual representation of some sort to go along the music. oh, is this maybe why there's artworks on CDs?. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. ok I like the picture, so I put it there.)

Quote :
she coined the term “acoustic dilettante post-something”, which refers to her unique D.I.Y. attitude that goes all along in the process of creating her music.

her music is something that could be labelled "lofi folk" but her label is quite right too - guitar, ukelele, glockenspiel, can and jars lofi beats, little experiments, and a soft voice compose her songs (errr, yeh.. it's a combination of all that composing her songs, but hmm, SHE composes the songs, not the instruments.. damn, english is hard :/).

the music is delicate, fragile, sensible, like painting on silence with white paint. (i felt like making a little 7 words poetry around the corner of a sentence there, nevermind Razz )

I wrote a little something on her there, : http://lotek.fr/log/?action=view&url=entertainement-for-the-braindead-albums-remixs-remixkits if you feel like reading some badly written french (and wanna know a little more about EFTB)

if you'd prefer to read good english, you could go to the AAAHH netlabel, read better and more complete descriptions of the albums released, and a better presentation of the artist :

http://aaahh-records.net/entertainment-for-the-braindead/

(and watch some videos too there while you're at it.)

you could visit her website too: http://entertainmentforthebraindead.com

and read things about her albums and eps like:

Quote :
hydrophobia has been released in late august 2008 with the help of two netlabels called aaahh records and aerotone. it contains ten songs that mostly circle around the idea of drowning.

Quote :
whilst hydrophobia is about water, hypersomnia focuses on sleep as a means of isolation, escapism, whatsoever

etc.

there's the myspace (it's the year 2010 and people still have myspace! unbelievable, isn't it?): http://myspace.com/entertainmentforthebraindead you know, perfect for catching a glimpse of the music (what?) without downloading it first. (it's called streaming i believe)

BUT I HAVE TO TELL SOMETHING REALLY IMPORTANT, THERE IT IS:

I REALLY TOTALLY ABSOLUTLY LOVE THIS EXPERIMENTATION / SONG THERE :

http://soundcloud.com/yersiniapestis/in-circles

(with just voice, and voice, and filtered voice, and tweaked voice, and layers of voice, and voice drums)

I felt like written a lot of things for nothing above... oh well, let's get to the point: F-ING (I love censoring my f-words) LISTEN TO IT!

oh and if you feel like listening to remixes, there're 18 there : http://aaahh-records.net/entertainment-for-the-braindead-remixes/

and if you feel like remixing her music and submit a remix, there're 9 remix kits there : http://aaahh-records.net/entertainment-for-the-braindead-remixkits/
