First this, both Stephen Thrower and Ossian Brown were once members of the group Coil which stands for a good degree of quality. Their new album "Wounded Galaxies Tap at The Window" - out on November 1st - is their first album release since collaborating with Nurse With Wound on "Angry Eelectric Finger: Paraparaparallelogrammatica". This release will be available initially as a limited edition 180-gram vinyl pressing of 1000 copies only, released on the Phantomcode label and available through the Cyclobe website at www.cyclobe.com . The album will also be distributed through Cargo Records and Forced Exposure.
Ossian Brown and Stephen Thrower are joined on this release by the musicians Michael J York, Cliff Stapleton, John Contreras and Thighpaulsandra. The album features some delicious cover artwork provided by the American artist Fred Tomaselli (see also the detail above.
Here's some background info on the recent (musical) moves of both Stephen Thrower and Ossian Brown. First of all there's Ossian Brown whose first book "Haunted Air" - featuring a selection of early American Halloween photography, with an introduction by David Lynch - is to be published by Jonathan Cape/Random House on the 28th October 2010. Stephen Thrower from his side is a member of the improvisation group The Amal Gamal Ensemble, and also releases music as UnicaZürn. He provided the scores to the Pakistan horror movie "Hell's Ground" and the award-winning British crime drama "Down Terrace".
