I just discovered Jake Cavalieri (no, actually, it's been months since I discovered this) from The Lords Of Altamont / The Morlocks used to play in The Bomboras...

Oh, by the way, talking about surf music, if you loved Sean Yseult in White Zombie, you have to check "The famous monsters"

Just discovered WAVVES, a one-man band playing a (very) dirty garage/surf/punk/noise/whateveryoucallthisstuff music.

KICKASS!

pretty cool music. I had a record on my hard drive for years, never listened to it... And well, it's really cool, if you like cheesy goth with a real sens e of humor. And surf music...

Brian Setzer – Vavoom

The Stray Cats were cool, with Brian Setzer being more than one third of this coolness… Big Band music is cool, even Las Vegas sordid big bands. Brian Setzer and big band are INCREDIBLY cool. This is pure cocaine-crooner fun, with a high level of musicianship and melody, great guitar playing, horny horns, and most important : SWING ! The high-energy versions of caravan or Mack The knife ‘that one’s quite epic !) would get a paralytic dancing, for instance. Very enjoyable.

The Bomboras – Swinging Singles

You like surf music ? You’ll like the Bomboras. Twang guitar drowned in reverberation, spooky organ (by Jake Cavalieri himself, before The Lords Of Altamont), garage drums, you got it all. But if you don’t like surf music… Don’t try !

these days, been listening a lot to this record, which I had quite ignored for years... And actually it stands as a highlight in the Cramps discography ! The sound is in some way more "80's" than on any of their records, but it really works.

& as long as we're in the topic, does anyone wanna found a psychorockabilly-surf-punk-gore'n'rock'n'roll-horror-fuck-you-dumbass band with me? Might be cool. Or maybe not, but at least will be rock'n'roll.

j'aimerai bien découvrir ce style, auquel je ne connais rien du tout.
Des groupes à me conseiller?
en gros, je cherche des trucs qui ressemblent au thème de Pulp Fiction, donc plutôt instrumentaux.
et plutot dans le coté "bourrin et desperado" que le coté "la plage et le soleil, c'est fun"
