Eyes wide shut , Kubrick .

Watched about 20 minutes of it , and realised the movie lasts over 2 hours , realised I'd probably be dead fuckin' bored by the time it would end . So : I can't .
See , I can do lots of things : I can force myself to eat asparagus , I can drink rhum knowing I HATE IT ... But this movie ... CAN'T watch it .

Watched Hard candy - with Ellen Page - a few days ago , enjoyed it . Even when anna - sitting right next to me during the movie - had this " gooooooooosh ... I'm so bored " look on his face ( I know you hated it cupcake , but I stand by my feeling : I like it . There are some stuff seen a million times in others movies and blah blah blah , but STILL ) .

Watched Everybody famous , a belgium "comedy" ... Didn't laugh . Waste of time . Annoying .

A boire - french movie with Emmanuelle Béart et Edouard Baer . Piece of crap . I was warned though ! Emmanuelle Béart ( Yuk ! ) ...

I'll pull myself together , promise ...

Now I'm about to watch Burn after reading, I'm quite sure I won't be disapointed by this one ! Very Happy

Very Happy

the first I watch it : very disapointed, big bouze
the second I watch it : mouais, boaf, cassing pas three pattes to a duck
the third I watch it : why not ?
...

the "x" I watch it : fantastic !

eyes wide shut is like bowie with let's dance : right in the year, not between or not behind the life of world as usual, so it "désarçonne" at the first "abord"

Yep . On the other hand I'm thinking there are times in life when you need to drive yourself into a corner : I'll give it a second shot , if it doesn't go straight to the head : NO MORE OF THIS .

The Lisbeth character is the only interesting thing about the movies, the nodal point of it actually more or less.

@ Teiko : I had to stop watching the movie before the end of it , for some technical reasons but I'll watch what's left tomorrow . Until now I think the movie's quite good , not terrific but quite good . And yes , Lisbeth is - off course - the character I'm holding on to . She's astonishing .
And I must say the way the rape scene as been filmed and the events related to this ( the revenge etc ) is really smart .
It's the first time that I see a woman rapin' the man who raped her on a screen .
Lisbeth is a very interesting character , really .
I have to read the books , I'm curious . I'll take the risk to be - maybe - disapointed by the following volumes .

Next film to watch :
Hedwig and the angry inch ( or hadopi ) - John Cameron Mitchelle's movie . rulaiz

I was not really really fond of the movie, globally, except that Lisbeth character like I said, but if only for the revenge scene (well and that part of the scenario), totally worth watching it.

(I have a soft spot for revenge scene or the kind of story that revolves around some kind revenges / part of the reason why I like many HK "polars" (sorry no idea on how to translate this word) movies I guess...)

gree
Well , I watched worst movies , like " Thirteen " by Catherine Hardwicke with Evan Rachel Wood ( which I violently hated , found it pointless and sniveling ) . And a few more in my time ( actually too many to mention among many real pieces of gold ) . I must admit that the way Hard candy's been filmed - how it looks like on the screen - is a bit too "clean" and "nice" for my taste . I give Ellen Page some credit for her performance as an acress for the leading part , even if I'm not fond of her , I think at least she's not unexpressive and uninteresting ( Liked her a lot in Juno for instance , even If I found the end of this movie was too nice , too polite ) .
To conclude : It's not awesome , it's not astonishing . I found it pleasant and enjoyed it with its failures , would not watch this movie several times though . flash

OH , we watched " Midnight meat train " last night , from the Clive Barker's short story wich I didn't read ( but certainly will ! ) .
I didn't like it . I think the story is probably real fuckin' good on paper , I want to read it so bad now . But the movie ... wtf ?!
Have you watched it Diva ?

I didn't like it either. And found Ellen Page character annoying as Hell, I prayed for her to stop talking....

I did. I thought it was...well...just ok, nothing more. But the short story is ten thousand times better actually, so yeah, read it!

What movie are you talking about ? Hard Candy ?
If so, the movie gave me those headaches i already experienced by being in the audience of Vivement Dimanche in 98' or something. And yes, those are kinda like my Proust madeleine of BOREDOM.
